Britain

If Britannia has a heart, it beats in Britain — the capital, the largest and most populated city, and home to Lord British’s castle.

Per world_knowledge.yaml, Britain has the fullest set of services of any city:

bank · blacksmith · carpenter · tinker · healer · inn · mage shop · tailor · provisioner

Landmarks include Lord British’s Castle (1323, 1624), Blackthorn’s Castle to the north, and the city graveyard (1380, 1490) — a traditional first hunting ground.

  • Trees to the north — the forest north of Britain (roughly the 1300–1600 × 1300–1500 area) is a solid lumberjacking ground.
  • Mountains to the north-east toward Minoc offer mining spots.
  • The southern coast below the city is a known fishing stretch.

Everyone, eventually — but especially new characters. Every craft trainer and supply vendor is within walking distance, the bank is the realm’s de facto marketplace, and the surrounding countryside (graveyard, north forest) offers low-risk hunting and gathering. When in doubt, start in Britain.
