Minoc

Minoc, the City of Sacrifice, smells of coal smoke and honest work. Tucked against the mountains of the north-east, it is the realm’s mining and tinkering town: a place built on ore and elbow grease, where miners and smiths outnumber everyone else and the ring of hammers carries down the streets. Minoc gave its name to the Virtue of Sacrifice, and the town wears its plain, working-class character with pride — no palaces here, just forges, carts, and the mountainside that feeds them.

Location

Getting there

Minoc is in the north-east of the Felucca/Trammel mainland. The Minoc Moongate (2701, 692) sits just south-east of town and also serves nearby Vesper — take any public gate and choose Minoc. By road, Minoc connects south-west toward Britain and south-east to Vesper; mages can Recall to a marked rune. See Moongates & shrines.

The forge, smith, tinker, and bank sit close together — the classic mine-smelt-sell-bank loop is shorter here than anywhere else in the realm. A bard also spawns in town. For tailoring, jewelry, or a mage shop, Vesper is a short hop east.

Nearby resources

  • The Minoc mines (around 2450–2650 × 350–600, with the main dig area near (2560, 540)) are the most famous mining grounds in Britannia.
  • Forest to the south for lumberjacking.

Who should come here

Miners and smiths, first and foremost. If you are training Mining or Blacksmithy, Minoc is your home base: mountainside, forge, smith vendors, and bank in a tight loop. Tinkers also start well here (tools and ingots on hand). Nearby Vesper handles anything Minoc’s small vendor roster lacks.
